Tradeshow Business Representative

The Tradeshow Business Representative will perform job checks, maintain and enter data into the District Council job database, and foster strong relationships with members and signatory employers through regular job site visits and meetings. Responsibilities include engaging members in events, dispatching replacements, developing worker committees, and collaborating with contractors to strengthen IUPAT's market presence.

The role involves building connections with convention facilities, recruiting a workforce, enforcing collective bargaining agreements, supporting apprenticeship programs, and monitoring trade show schedules for outreach. Ideal candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish, outgoing, organized, and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends. They must also demonstrate a commitment to union democracy, effective communication, and organizing all IUPAT crafts.


 

Field Representative

The Field Representative will conduct regular job checks, entering and sharing gathered information with the organizing department while maintaining strong relationships with members and signatory employers. This role involves developing worker organizing committees, engaging industry professionals to strengthen IUPAT's market presence, and recruiting a workforce to meet labor demands. Responsibilities include assisting in collective bargaining, organizing significant actions such as pickets and rallies, and mobilizing union and community support through various outreach activities.

The Field Representative will also perform administrative tasks, conduct new membership orientations, and develop recruitment plans. They will visit job sites weekly, engage with union and non-union contractors, build case studies, and market the union. Ideal candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish, outgoing, positive, able to manage multiple tasks, and willing to work flexible hours. They must demonstrate a commitment to union democracy, effective communication, and collaboration with others.


Organizer

An organizer is responsible for advocating and supporting the interest of the members within our district council. This role involves inspiring workers to take collective action, improve working conditions, wages and benefits, and compliance with labor laws; while fostering a strong sense of solidarity and community.
